It's questions like this that make me dread having to go to CES every year. there is no such thing and I make $100k systems. my home system sub is infinite baffle and with a function generator to give a 2 Hz signal I can hit the Brown note ( 2 Hz 110 db. instant poopy pants) and still no broken glass that's up around 3k Hz.

Hi there. If you want heart pumping bass (the kind that will break a glass if you put it in front of the bass) then i'm afraid you are not looking for a High Fidelity sound system to go with your video. The type of sound you are after does not belong to "superior sound technology".It is just noise and vibration. It's a pity because you could have an excellent sound system if you follow a few rules which apply to all audio systems.

Almost any system today has great potential. Where some fall short or excel is in powerful and "clean" bass reproduction. I don't like sub woofers but speakers are the area where the difference can be made. For my needs in bass, I researched speaker specifications to et the reproduction from a regular set of speakers that could produce the bass that I needed, at a reasonable power level (and with good efficiency/SPL). Then you need a decent but high powered amp to drive them. I used two speakers and a two channel amp fed from a Y at the "sub out" of the amp.
I am pleased with the results.

well are you talking home or car? If you are talking home I would suggest getting a a db meter and accually setting the system right. Don't worry about loud, anything can be load, just try and make it clear. Now as far as what is the best......you have to ask yourself......how much can you afford?

If you are talking car....just do us all a favor and stick you head in a microwave. All that bass crap....once again high fidelity is the way to go, and that doesn't mean loud.

If your looking for a home theater system and the skys the limit for price, then if you want loud look at McIntosh system (completely different from the computer makers). There top system will run you about 600,000 but can maintain 136db(will cause hearing loss) at full range but it does rock. They specifically design there systems to be able to work hard and loud and are one of the best of the best, there smallest amp is 200watts. If you are serious about getting one email me privately and I will help you out.
