These violent gangs have all but ruined Los Angeles and god knows how many other cities. When will we, as a nation, finally stop having pity on people who CHOOSE to affiliate themselves with these groups and hold them responsible for being involved in a terrorist organization? We would not show sympathy for someone involved with Al-Qaida, so why do we tolerate the same behavior from these people that are involved in organizations that destroy American lifes every day?

It seems to me that no one does any thing untill the problem gets completely out of hand.We need to react to these situations like we would a cancer, but it's up to all of us to do something about it & stop hiding our heads in the sand like a bunch of ostrichs.

The dealing with gangs is a tricky situation, since we have a constitution and if gives a right to free assembly. In California, there are laws that deal with gangs. In the (a) section listed below, if you are a member of a criminal street gang, and aid in any felonious conduct that is for the benefit of the gang. You can be charged with that as a crime in and of its self. If you commit a felony that aids a gang, and you are not even in the gang, you can have the (b) section added on as an extra punishment. If you are a gang member and commit the crime you can get both.
Here is where it becomes fun. If you get both, it can take a 3 year felony up to a 14 year . Also, both the (a) and (b) are strikes for the three strike laws, so when you get out, if you commit another felony, you can get life in prison.
Also, say, you get charged with the gang charge (a) you could get 3 years in prison. Now a pal, also in the gang tries get a witness to not testify against you. He can get seven years, plus the gang enhancements. It goes on and on. We have the laws. Los Angeles just need to prosecute them.
Example: You carjack someone and threaten the victim you will get them if they call the cops. Sentence....Life.

Laws need to be made that makes it illegal to affiliate yourself with a criminal gang. Police and the prosecutors will bring their evidence to a judge and the judge would decide if that gang is criminal or not. If he decides it is, then anyone who is a member of the gang should be arrested and charged with a felony.

If someone openly pleads support of a muslim terrorist organization, they would be arrested and shipped off to cuba.
