I don't think he would want to take his crew chief or team with him over to HMS. He might of said he did out of loyalty but that has not been a top 10 team before so why would they be one now? Yes he's been with them for a long time but where has that gotten him? Rick has some of the best personnel in the business over there and Jr would be wise to use that to his advantage. That's the whole purpose of this switch, to get a fresh perspective and see how a proven winning owner does things.

God lets hope not!!! I think Dale Jr. should just make a clean break from the entire package. (DEI, Bud sponser, #8 etc) Tony Jr. (to me) sucks as a crew chief, way too many issues each weekend on the cars. Dale Jr needs to make a fresh start completely, no old baggage should accompany him over to Hendrick.......
This was more of an opinion than an answer, but this is a question that I have been waiting to have answered and its the only topic that has yet to be dicussed anywhere in the sports media,

I've heard him say he'd like to have Tony Jr, but he is under contract for another yr with DEI...I think the number 5 crew chief now Alan G. would be a great crew chief for Jr...Make a 100% change all around, I've accepted the fact that he is not going to be in #8 and have budweiser, so change the crew chief as well, make a 100% brand new Dale Jr in 2008, I'm so excited I wish it were speed weeks in daytona already..

Junior & Tony Jr. work so good together. It would be great. I would like to see it happen, but time will tell. Blood is always thicker than water. How ever it turns out, I wish him the best. Comment to Ricky Bobby - "What did he do to deserve it?" Dale SR. built DEI for his family in the hopes that someday ALL of his kids would own it along with Theresa. She however want's total control. By the way, that includes Theresa's daughter Taylor too. Junior started out changing oil at his Dad's Dealership, worked his way up just like his dad. He has every right to what his Dad built.

All Crew Members are under contract with their respective teams and unless they are fired or reach an amicable agreement they are stuck where they are. In my opinion if Jr wants a fresh start he would want a whole new crew.

I've heard the rumors that "Something" was worked out to have Eury Jr go with him to HMS and also a handfull of his pit crew. I don't get it, i am a diehard Jr fan but taking Eury Jr with him is a mistake.

The 5 crew is faster than the 8 crew. Look at the average of times. Oh and not to brag because I know it is a different format but the 5 crew spanked the 8 crew at the Pit Crew Challenge in May................WHAT NOW!
Hard to argue head to head competition!

I think it's up to Rick Hendrick whether he wants to hire Dale's crew or not.
