I can relate to others who are in pain, because I have been there before.. but when I hear stories of people in need, or people who are homeless, or people who have been betrayed, etc.. I cry for them.. Why?

I know exactly how you feel, because I used to be the same way. It's both a gift and a curse. I was always told that I was just "too sensitive" but one cannot help the way they are. I found that being on some medication helped me to be able to control my tears and not allow myself to despair about things that have absolutely nothing to do with me. That being said, you don't need to shut yourself away from the troubles of the world, but instead do some volunteer work.

You do this because you are obviously an empathic and caring person, which is a good thing. Unless it causes you real distress in which case you may want to seek help from your doctor, then just be proud of yourself for being a nice, warm-hearted individual.

It just sounds like you're an empathetic person, and there's certainly nothing wrong with that!:)

You are empathetic. You care for others deeply even if you do not know them personally.
