I can put the science book to the test. I've done so many times. Miller-Urey? Didn't think it would work... so performed it. Funny enough, it worked.

Science doesn't come up with stuff. People do, using the scientific method. If the people are reputable, and provide strong evidence, then it's worth considering plausible. If the people are reputable and speak, but without evidence, it's worth at least hearing, even if not forming an opinion of. If the person isn't reputable, but the evidence supports them anyways, you pay attention to the evidence despite the messenger. And if the person is neither reputable nor is the evidence on their side, you dismiss them.

I don't believe in anything. Either I have reliable evidence or I don't hold an opinion.

I know the Big Bang, or a similiar phenomenon, occured to begin the visible universe. The evidence (particularly the COBE evidence) is completely conclusive.

I know evolution occurs. The evidence can be found in just about any natural history museum on the planet, as well as written in the DNA of every creature, humans included, which has ever lived.

It's all about the evidence, not belief.

No, look up the definition of "atheist". It means you don't believe in the existence of gods. That's it.

And we can believe in science, water, and air because #1- They're not gods, and #2- There's evidence for their existence. That's exactly the difference between us and Christians who follow a book of bronze age superstition.

Don't be ridiculous.

Atheist - having no belief in the supernatural. No belief in deity. A Skeptic.

My belief system is not based solely on science. I believe what I do out of personal truth and conviction.

The difference is Christians believe in god, I do not.

Not a 'real' atheist b/c I can not fully believe that all the chance occurences for this world to exist happen completely by chance only-especially when their are so many examples of how it wouldn't/doesn't work out.
I just don't believe that anything with a sense of right and wrong would create anything to have such horrible outcomes (ie-the Holocaust). Or that it would be singular or male.

The only requirement for an atheist to be an atheist (I've never met an unreal atheist or an unreal anything) is to not believe in any gods.

They are free to believe or disbelieve anything else.

Under this definition, yes, I am an atheist (real). I truly do not believe in any gods.

You don't understand what an atheist is. A person who is a atheist believes that there is no superior being - no god. They do not believe in nothing. They do not believe in God because science is unable to prove the existence of one or more Gods.

No, it's not just an attractive "label", I truly lack belief in all god concepts. So yes, I really am an atheist.

Look at the word atheist. It doesn't mean a belief in nothing. It means no belief in religion and gods and stuff.

You are so confused about what an atheist is. A-theist. As in, not a theist. That's it. Nothing more.
