Depends from area to area. Where are you from?
In Texas, you have to get a U.S. Coast guard approved Captain's license in order to even think about getting a fishing guide license.
After that, you just pay the parks and wildlife $200 along with getting your own fishing license separate and your set.

Contact your local Fish and Game Association, or DFO organization. I have been a guide in Northwest BC for 3 years now. I took a pretty lengthy test on different species of fish and local wildlife.
