Well, the original "in" crowd is not here as regularly. They are the ones who used to include: Mayor Jim, Lokasenna, and some of the other atheists. They invented the original game on here, the Drinking Game.
But, the Yahoo Nazis, (aka the Troll Patrol) decided that these people violated the Yahoo!Answers terms of service, and then started to submit abuse reports to get them removed. Many of the regulars have left.
I think that now, the "in" crowd are those who participate regularly. Not everyone that is a Top Contributor is "in" and some of the non-TCs are part of the "in" crowd.

I have no idea. Maybe he means the regulars. But I find that once you become a regular you ask about three goofy questions for every serious one. I don't know what he means about the "in" crowd being "preachy."

Oh, oh I asked if there was "cool kids" here on R&S and they told me I was. I felt so special! Hehe
Seriously, I have no idea. I've been accused of that from several people here.
I am not atheist!!

I was always part of the metal heads in school
1988....I remember the groups well:
Metal heads
Book worms (geeks)
The jocks
The smokers
The un-dateable girls (I still tried to ask them out....you just never know who's gonna say yes one day....but I was a glutton for punishment)

Yeah, it's the top contributors. It comes across as a little clique-ish at times.
