It's in their instincts to hunt or "swat" moving prey and that's exactly what your feet are! They also just like to play and anything that moves is very attractive to a cat.

This is called play aggression. Cats are predators and they are always practicing their skill. In the case of humans, this serves a double purpose, it's also trying to get your attention for playtime.

The cat is indicating to you that it's time to play- even if you don't know it.

Get some fake mice or a wand toy to redirect this behavior if it bothers you.

i have cats and my cats always do that i read in a book that that's there way of showing they love you

Yes sometimes...especially when they're kittens. My cat will even attack me when I'm laying or sitting still...
