The top 8 are more than likely locked in where they are at. However the 9th through 12th positions can be jumbled around big time with not many points seperating them. They are currently
9 Bowyer
10 Harvick
11 Truex
12 Ku. Busch

I see it coming out..
9. Truex
10. Busch
11. Harvick
12 Bowyer

What would your order be? Or will anyone from outside the 12 make it?

I also have Bowyer slipping a couple spots but I don't see Truex moving up any more. If anything, he'll slip down to 12 after this weekend since Kurt rocks Bristol (5 wins in just 13 starts) and Truex sucks at this track (average finish of 30.1). Harvick will move past Bowyer since he's consitently good at Bristol (average finish of 10.1) but he has been in a bit of a slump lately. By the time the cut-off comes around I expect it to look something like this:
9. Harvick
10. Busch
11. Bowyer
12. Truex Jr

Remember, though, that with the new Chase format, the contenders' standings will be reshuffled based on their season wins. Starting with the first race in the Chase, each driver will be awarded 5000 points for making the chase and then an extra 10 points per win from this season. So unless Bowyer, the only winless driver in contention, wins one of the final 3 regular season races, he'll automatically start out in the 12th spot when the first Chase race starts. Gordon and Johnson will likely be 1 & 2 since they each have 4 wins and Tony Stewart will be 3rd with his 3 wins (unless Kurt wins Bristol and one other of the final 3 races). Kurt will most likely be right behind Stewart with his 2 wins and the rest of the Chase field will follow suit (Hamlin, Burton, Harvick, Kyle Busch, Truex, Kenseth, Edwards, and finally Bowyer).

Not sure how 9-12 will end up but i think that 13th and lower are pretty much locked out.
