If it's a more formal wedding then wear the dress - even if you don't like it. I mean, c'mon. For heaven's sake, it's only the one evening.

Besides, going along with Mom's wishes without arguing will pay off in the long run with more privileges for things like going out with friends etc. later on. Not arguing with Mom will go a long way to convincing her you're more grown up than she thinks you are right now.

Trust me. At 13, it doesn't pay off trying to argue with Mom. Oh, you may get what you want NOW - but she'll remember your piggishness and put the NIX on something you really want later on down the road.

wear the dress.

I have always had issues trying to find something to wear to a wedding that I liked and didn't feel too casual or to dressy for. I do think your mom is right and a dress is going to be what would be best for the location. Since it's a 4:30 wedding it's getting closer to the more formal hours of dress for weddings. Go shop for a dress, and find one you are comfortable in but looks tasteful. Since you are 13 you don't want to go with any thing too grown up looking. check out some wedding sites for ideas too.

Yes, I think a skirt would be fine. Just as long as you're dressed up and looking pretty, it won't matter if you wear a dress or seperates. The only real "rules" are to not wear white or any other REALLY bright colors that might detract attention from the bride.

I think that would be cute, unless it is a formal wedding, then you probably need to wear a nicer dress. Or find a little businessy type suit with a jacket and slacks. But most likely a dress if it is formal.

Tell your mom you can wear whatever you want...

What you describe sounds perfect for an outdoor wedding taking place beside a vineyard. Flats would be a good choice of footwear or you will have your heels digging in the ground all day.

you will look lovely just make sure the top and the skirt are not to tight or short . there are so many things that can be added to dress up the most plain things just add some earings and jewerly and away you go. have fun.

that outfit sounds perfect. you can dress it up by getting an embellished sweater or a satin skirt. also, carry a nice little bag for a finishing touch. i don't think a dress is mandatory, a skirt is fine.

Wear a skirt or a dress that is knee-length or longer.

that outfit sounds fine. as long as you are neat, presentable and comfortable, you can wear what you like.

you don't need to wear a dress unless you're in the wedding.
