OK... so I'm a brunette right now and I have really nice hair. It's not like a boring brown it has natural blonde and red highlights. Plus in the sun it shines red. I love it! But I've always wondered what I would look like as a blonde, and so does my fiance?! I'm just scared to die it cause I dont want to ruin my hair... what do you think I should do?!

As a Hairdresser PLEASE DO NOT GO BLOND!!!! It may look great but it will RUIN your hair!! To go blond the salon will need to first bleach your head.
Bleach is VERY Harsh and will cause hair damage such as split ends.
If you decide to do it or even not to do it, I would like to recommend that you use Matix "Nourishing Shampoo, conditioning blam and of course Sheer Brilliance by rusk. It is th best
One more thing just a little hint - when rinsing out the condioning us rthe coldest warter possible. By doing this you are sealling your hair saft and locking in the mousture,

PS: I've been a Hairdresser for 16 years. I'm telling you the truth do not believe other when they say it will not dammage your hair. If your hair is shoulder length or longer it will cause split ends and your hair will look fried. Yes there are things you can do to make your hair look healthier than it really but do you really want blonde that bad. I would stick with highlights. As you go to the salon for more highlights your hair will get lighter ever time as they can not always highlight the same exact area again. I would go that route instead of bleaching my entire head.

Well you can dye it, eventually your hair will grow back out. But I say keep your hair its natural color, God, or Nature usually knew what they are doing, I've seen too many beautiful women with non blonde hair, dye their hair blonde, and they don't look good, because its doesn't match the rest of their features.

Leave it alone! Your hair sounds beautiful! Most likely you won't look near as good in blonde anyways. If you want to see yourself blonde that bad buy a wig or clip in hair extensions.

once you dye your hair, you will never get the natural color back. If it's so pretty and you love it then dont change it. Buy a blonde wig

you won't "ruin your hair" as you put it if you know how to use bleach and toners correctly, it is the people who mis-use chemicals that end up with fried and nasty hair- and yes i am talking to all of you who try and bleach your hair to white-eek! the sun damages your hair FAR more than bleach and your straighteners (if you use them) will also damage your hair more than bleach/colour. anyway if you really wish to go blonde then please feel free to visit and post at: http://www.goblonde.net there you will get answers from other PROFESSIONALS and not the kids who run around with sun-in in their hair.

well i think u should wait untill next summer cuz i match my hair color to the seasons and i go dark in the winter and light in the summer...right now i am a med. blonde and my natural is med brown...i think u should die it but not right yet...

I don't know where she went but my friend went to this place to get her hair done and she got these pictures of herself with blonde hair and different colors it was really cool. Maybe you could ask your hair dresser about it. Don't die your hair!

don't do it...i mean i have blonde highlights and i absolutely love them...but you HAVE to keep up with them or you'll end up looking like Shakira used to when she first came out. and it can get pretttty pricey if you get in done in salons. plus the blonde dries out your hair...and actually can make it look unhealthy if you over due it with a hair dryer or straightener.

use photoshop to make your hair blonde or buy one of those hair spray cans like for halloween of a blonde color that wash off and see if you like it...ive done it and it came out nice
