I think it should be no shorter than 5 minutes but no longer than ten. Don't say I prefer no sermon that is not an answer!

Depends on how long the entire service is, doesn't it?

Also is influenced by what else is going on in the service.

I had preached for a month and my wife kept insisting the sermon was only 10 minutes long.

In fact, I was preaching from 20-25 minutes, it just SEEMED like 10 minutes -- thats' a sign of a good sermon.

A good sermon should have a very strong beginning, and a very strong ending, and they should be as close together as possible.

Godspeed.

It depends on who is doing the talking. Some I could listen to a long time and others I can't wait for them to stop.

Less than 40 minutes. After that, you lose most people.
