We all know what the Nazis did to the Jews in the holocaust; gas chambers, tortuous experiments, burning, and lethal injections. Children were slaughtered.
There were even some children who were put into pits, had oil poured on them, and were set afire. If you ask me, this does not necessarily prove that there is no God, but it does prove that there is no God that intervenes in human affairs. Here are my responses to common Christian defenses to this argument: 1) Christian: “God gave man freewill. God did not do this, the Nazis did.” Me: The problem is that you say God does intervene sometimes, even when freewill is involved. Terrorists blow up a building and some people escape unharmed. Then, Christians and these lucky people praise God for his intervention. Why not help the Jews? 2) Christian: “This life is only temporary. Victims will be rewarded in heaven. Me: First, you have the problem that was discussed in No. 1. You said that God does intervene sometimes; sometimes even to help you on your math test. Secondly, it is one thing for people to die, it is another thing for children to burn alive. Couldn’t he have at least taken them before the pain set in? We know that he didn’t because of their screams. 3) Christian: “God has a purpose for everything and sometimes we cannot understand it.” Me: Jeffrey Dahmer had a purpose for what he did. He liked killing and eating people. No matter what purpose he might have had, it is unjustifiable.

Hey Gone Fishin, if you’re implying that God does not take care of us, then why do we worship him?

Is there a question here? I heard an old Jewish survivor of the Holocaust state "God is not a babysitter" when asked if her experience lessened her beliefs.

This kind of thing is something very hard to explain because God is the greatest mystery, but I will try.

God is not a man, He is an everlasting, an all knowing, all powerful, all omnipotent being. The reason why we can't always understand God's reasoning is because we are not as knowing, and not as omnipotent. The answer to why some people are saved, some are lucky, and some are not, is not as simple as whether God intervenes or not, or whether it's for justice or not. Another way of thinking about it is that God probably takes everything to account for each decision he makes, and when I mean everything, I mean everything in existence, both physical and spiritual. And the thing is that these decisions are made beforehand, probably before anything besides God existed.

Alright, in a nutshell, what I'm trying to say is that God has a plan. A plan so great that if it were explained to one of us, it would probably give us a complete and utter mental breakdown, and it would probably take all of eternity to explain. If we did understand it though, surely we'd be eternally grateful.

Another thing to add; the reason why we'd be extremely grateful if we understood God's Great Plan is because God's plan is probably, in the end, for us to be happy.

Ofcourse, this is all my beliefs(and the last part was completely my opinion), and I will not force you to believe it. :)

you're able to desire to comprehend that in the time of accordance to the Bible that the excellent present God gave to guy grew to become into "loose will". So in accordance with a present alongside with loose will, God has no place interfering in how we make and act on those alternatives. interior the better image seem at what the Holocaust did in terms of the human condition. Up till that era in our history we've in no way experienced certainly one of those terrible and destructive element. it incredibly is probable the only maximum determining gauge against all different evils. So in a rely of sense the holocaust could provide a feeling of what's solid and evil to its intense.

I do agree with you that if there is a god he does not intervene in human affairs.
It seems silly that he would allow so many atrocities to occur in the world and then someone is brought back from an accident in a hospital with the best treatment and it is a "miracle." I also agree with John B. Some things are unforgivable.

When someone asks a question such as this I think of a Christian, German concentration camp guard at Auschwitz in 1944. He has a loving family who he takes to church every Sunday without fail. On this day, he is leading a family of Jews to their deaths in the gas chamber. Here's where things get confusing for me. According to the bible, all the German guard must do is accept Jesus as his savior and the son of god and ask for forgiveness of this terrible sin of multiple murders of innocent victims, and he will dwell in heaven forever when he dies after living a long and fruitful life. The innocent Jewish family, however, because they don't believe just as the German does, after having their lives cut miserably short and not allowed to bring up children have, grandchildren and enjoy the other niceties of life like the German will enjoy, will burn in hell for eternity. That's just sick man.

there are people starving all over the world. there are child molesters still running around in the public. drugs still are being sold on school grounds, parents are abusing their children, innocent people are being murdered.

now what are YOU going to do about it? or are you gonna wait around and see if God is going to do anything about and then blame it on Him? so i guess that's your answer for everything. blame God when NO one has actually done anything about the situation.
