MS, multiple sclerosis, affects the central nervous system. It is thought to be an auto-immune disease.

Unfortunately, your friend may get worse. MS is a chronic, often debilitating disease. The disease itself is unpredicatible and it varies in severity. It will be mild in some people and be permanently disabling in others.

Treatment is geared to slowing the course of the disease and symptomatic relief.

There is more info about MS than I can provide here. I also do not believe in copying and pasting pages of information so, if you'd like to learn more, please go to this site:

Most types of MS are not fatal. There is one type that is but is quite rare.the majority of people with MS lead very normal lives. The most common type of MS is called relapsing and remitting. He could have symptoms for a few weeks to a few months then the symptoms may just go away. He can go for many years between exacerbation's (attacks) over time many change to secondary progressive where the symptoms are always there but a normal life is still very possible
The important thing to do with MS is just be good to your body..eat right , limit smoking and drinking watch weight , exercise etc..and also taking one of the disease modifying drugs will help tons ..last bit not least , ATTITUDE..it really does help
