2 months ago we were detained and fingerprinted for public intoxication. We were told that it was so minor that it probably would not get filed but none the less we had to go to court to make sure. I do intend on fighting the charge if it was filed. I'm asking because im on the brink of being employed by an elementry school that requires fingerprinting and im panicking, can this end my hopes of being hired??? should i mention it? will it even show?

I did recieve a citation, next to the charge public intoxication the misdemeanor box was checked. I have never had any problems with the police before this incident.

public intoxication is not a misdemeanor, is it? if you just received a citation or violation, I can't imagine being fingerprinted. And if you were not convicted yet, I can't imagine your fingerprints being circulated. Also, I believe you are being fingerprinted to perhaps check against the Child Crimes registry because you'll be around children. Other than that, if it's a highly competitive position and another candidate doesn't have a problem (however minor), it's up to your future employer. Answer any question honestly

that's no longer a conviction. In my state, public intoxication leads to civil dedication -- locked up till finally sober for the risk-free practices of the guy, yet no longer a criminal fee. i do no longer understand if it extremely is likewise the regulation on your state. There are no everyday regulations on any project.

unless you plead guilty or are found guilty there should not be a record of incident but you should always disclose anything on employment application never get in habit of lying it will only come back to haunt you later
