If your Sensei could be defeated by a 14 year old girl with one year of training he wouldn't be much of a Sensei

I have to agree with someone else here and say that he would not be a very good martial artist if a 14 year old could beat him. Hopefully though when he spires with you and throws some of these techniques he is doing it with the idea that you see it, learn from it, and he does not hurt you. As for beating him, many really good senseis learn to fight relying on their experience and mind, rather than their physical abilities and those will deteriorate long before their mind so it may be a long time before you can beat him.

If there is a certain blow that you are consistently not blocking, be sure to ask him to show you the best way to block it and practice it over and over. You probably (hopefully) aren't going to beat your sensei sparring with only a year experience. Sparring with someone so much better/stronger than you is only going to make YOU better and stronger!

As your sensei would probably tell you....its never about strength. Its patience, speed, focus, and control. If you continue to learn these things you will be able to beat the strongest person...they are normally relying on only their strength....not their head!

you can't expect to be able to beat him/her right away. He/She must be many years older and many years more experienced. When it comes to points and tag, like real fighting, experience plays a big part in it. Think of it like this. He/She isn't better than you in sparring, they just have more xp than you do right now. Think of it in terms of xp rather than better than. No one is any better because there "better" it is mostly because they just have more xp than others.

according to the old kung fu movies you will never be better than your master. but you also cant learn anything in a year. keep working, you will improve.
