I'm a vet, but of a newer breed. If I was a vietnam vet, I would be pissed as hell at Bush for that comment.

We all know what a dodger he was...and his boys (the swift boat veterans) had the gall to go after Kerry.

I respect Kerry so much more for at least putting on the uniform, and going to Vietnam...doing his duty for his country.

He ran to Alabama because he's chickenhawk.

"Yeah it's OK for people do die for the country as long as it's not me"

Chickenhawk like Mitt Romney and his 5 sons, Chickenhawk like college Republicans.

Don't give me that tripe about supporting the war by campaigning. That's complete bull. Mitt Romney and George Bush want the Whitehouse to profiteer. They don't care about the war, just like George Bush's grandfather had no qualms about selling Nazi Germany 1/3 of their raw materials.

Don't you know that's a privilege for members of rich, powerful and politically well connected families? Though I wouldn't go so far as to say Bush is a coward - I honestly think he's too stupid.

Funny, when did a lowly pilot in the Air National Guard start telling the U.S. high command, who and what has to go to Vietnam??

Was Bush ordered to Vietnam, was any of his squadron / unit ordered to Vietnam while he was serving?

Did George W. Bush go A.W.O.L. from his unit after being ordered to Vietnam.

How many days was he A.W.O.L.?

What was the result of the Court-Martial against him??

How many of the people complaining here are actualy in the service of their country at the moment??

At least he was in the Air National Guard. Clinton was illegally protesting in a foreign country. But that was OK, I guess. And then there's 3 Purple Hearts in 3 months Kerry who shot himself to get one of those medals. I wonder how he got the other 2 since he won't release his war records. Nothing suspicious there.

guess you could ask the same of Clinton... or NUMEROUS other political leaders and people of power. MANY found ways to bypass the draft.

Kerry should NOT be respected as i saw someone post. There's a reason pictures of Kerry were all over the place in North Vietnam. they loved the guy. just as much as hanoi jane. both were traitors.

He fought the war by campaigning, just as Mitt Romney's heroic sons are doing. Some are to be used for combat, others must stay home to be leaders.
