Deep Fried Snickers

Snickers candy bars
funnel cake mix
frying oil

Push popcicle sticks into Snickers bar from the bottom about half way up.
Freeze Snickers until frozen solid.
For the funnel cake batter, you can either buy the mix at the store or make your own batter (there are several one's on recipezaar).
Dip frozen Snickers into the batter.
Fry in hot oil until golden brown (just a few minutes).
Remove from oil and drain.
Top with powdered sugar or caramel sauce if desired.

Good grief! As if we don't get enough fat and sugar in our diets to begin with! Although I cringe at the thought of yet another "deep fried" delicacy, here are some thoughts on how to do it:

1. Try contacting StateFairRecipes.com and see if they can give you some ideas.
2. Take your snickers bar and stick it in the refrigerator to "harden" up. This should only take about 30 minutes to an hour.
3. Create a batter using cornmeal, sugar, flour, baking powder and ice cold soda water. The batter should be very thick.
4. Roll your snickers in cornstarch before dipping it in the batter and place immediately in hot peanut oil.

Have never tried this at home, but it just makes sense!

I think it's a basic batter. If you can, try funnel cake batter - I think that's the consistency you are looking for, although I've heard funnel cake batter is simply pancake batter. Either way, you want the batter to be thick enough to stick onto the candy bar.

Heat up your oil in a deep fat fyer to the proper temp, dip the candy bar in the batter and fry that baby up. Sounds yummy.

so far all are correct.....pancake batter works best....insert a skewer halfway through the end, dip in the batter and deep fry...i have seen these dusted with powdered sugar, and covered in redi whip and chocolate syrup....best one to try is snickers.....i have seen it done but never had one....from the sound of it they would probably be too rich to eat more than a bite or two but i bet those two bites would be gooey goooood
