Is it feasible that a returning soldier from WWII could join the force and reach the rank of Detective 1st or 2nd class in six or seven years?

I don't mean present day - I was talking about immediately following the end of the War in 1945.

I can see no reason why not providing the person had the proper qualifications. Additionally vet's are often given preference or credit for their military service.

I would imagine someone who had served in the Adjutants Office, Military Police or Intelligence might be able to start in the grade of D1 or D2.

The majority are dead or in their 80's
