Out of all sports I don't know of any sport where the top tier players go back and play in the minors ( Baseball does it for rehab) But in Nascar the Top guy's want to race Busch. This makes NASCAR a Joke! You can argue the cars are different.. SO WHAT! Busch is the Minor leagues & Nextel is the Majors. Why do the Nextel guy's feel like they have to race in the Busch Series. It's Dumb! I don't want to see Kenseth Race Busch and Nextel. It's just plan Gay. What A Nextel guy is going to go pick on a Busch guy. I hate it.

While the point that the Cup drivers help put more fans in the seats at a Busch is a good one, it still doesn't make up for the fact that the Busch series has become nothing more than a stomping ground for more talented/experience drivers to burn up the less fortunate and smaller race teams that try to perform well at these races. You don't see NFL players running out and pounding on college level players. Even MLB and NHL caliber players only head back to minors momentarily to iron out kinks in their game or recooperate from a long down time due to an injury. But NASCAR is different. If you've made to Cup status, you've already proven that you're one of the best. I don't think there's any justification for a driver to regress down to the "minor league" Busch series...monetary, popularity, or otherwise. If anything, it's hurting the series even more because now the only winners in any Busch event are also Nextel drivers.

I remember a Busch Series race from 2005 at Pikes Peak. It was all Busch Series regulars. The Cup drivers were racing somewhere else. I remember thinking that it was a great race because it didn't have the same old Cup drivers in it. I believe that David Green won it.

The Busch Series should be a feeder series to the Cup Series. A series that showcases the superstars of tomorrow. I'm not saying that the Cup teams should withdraw from the series, just have Busch drivers in their cars and not Cup drivers. I don't mind seeing the Cup drivers run some races, but just have a limit on how many. I think that five races would do.

I believe that nascar should limit the amount of races that nextel cup guys can race in the busch series. This way it gives up and comers a chance and if you really love nascar you will still follow. With all the sponsorship that goes along with it however, I dont think it will ever be like it was.

Bushwacked is right about attracting people to the races. It may seem unfair to some having big boys in Busch races but it is also a way to get the Busch racers to realize what the Nextel races are like. It actually helps to improve their driving skills being able to follow somebody like Kyle Busch or Tony Stewart around the tracks to learn about the high and low lines they can change to.
The big names attract crowds and all that NASCAR cares about is the bottom line - money
By the way, there is a baseball section for closed-minded jacka$$es like you.

No, I do not hate it.. I just wish it was limited.
You cannot really compare NASCAR to other sports.. because it is a motorsport. It is a whole different dynamic.
Cup guys driving in the busch series makes the busch series and the busch drivers better... they just shouldnt be 20 of them every week. Just 5 or so.

There wouldnt be a Busch series without the Nextel Cup guys. Even with the big guys in the Busch series, it still doesn't even come close to selling out the seats. You think they'd fill the seats with a bunch of no name drivers?

Actually its the Cup Drivers who bring the fans and who makes the money for Nascar when it comes to the Busch Series. The fans watch the Busch because of the Cup drivers. Nascar would be very stupid to stop allowing the Cup drivers to race that series. Nascar would lose a lot of money, and money is what its all about!!!

Go RCR!!!
Go Jeff Burton!!!

Well I don't hate it but I don't really think it's fair for Busch racers to compete against Nextel cup drivers. I think they should at least limit the amount the of races the Nextel cup drivers can race.

I see your point but you're wrong when you say it's dumb. Here's why: It has to be a bigger audience for the sponsor when a cup driver is in the Busch car. As a Busch driver, you could use this as a chance to improve your driving. Think about it, you're as good as those around you.

My problem would be as a cup car owner. I wouldn't want my Sunday driver running the chance of getting injured in a Busch race.

Its gonna be the Roush-Fenway Grand National Series. Im ok when its a Busch Team with a Cup Driver (ex. Harvick driving the 33, 77 & Yeley in the 1), but Cup Teams with Cup Drivers like Roush (Kenseth, Biffle, McMurray), Hendrick (Mears, Busch), Penske (Newman, Busch) shouldnt be happening.
