Why is it that people ask tons of medical questions on here that could be easily answered by calling their doctors? It would take less time and one would receive a better answer. Experiences are one thing... but asking "what is it?" is something else.

There are probably tons of reasons why people are motivated to remain anonynous, but I think fear is probably the biggest one. Doctor's are often a great source of anxiety for a lot of people. They are often (irrationally) perceived as the harbingers of suffering. Plus if something is potentially embarrasing, yet turns out to be nothing, you have saved yourself a lot of face by asking anonymously online rather than presenting yourself up for potential (yet unduly perceived) humility from a one-on-one, face-to-face with another human being. Of course if it is something serious then a doctor's visit would be essential, but again the fear of potential undue pain and suffering from tests and needles and doctor's bills is enough to make many people hesitate.

Well like myself, alot of people dont have doctors and cant afford them. So if they ask questions it's only because it's better to do a little trial and error than to be in debt for the rest of your life.

my Dr's are not mean and if i have a question to ask them I'll ask them, but if its a personal kind of question,I'll ask the head nurse and we're go in her office and talk about it then she'll explain to the Dr what it was and that i was embarrassing for me to ask,so then they would call in a prescription's to help me.i also go to this website on here also

www.webMD.com to find out more about my medicines i take.
hopes this helps you remember not ALL DRS ARE MEAN.!!!

I would think it is due to the cost, or embarrassment if it is a small town doctor.

This may also get a faster response, and second opinions.
