use pc to pc calling through ym.
both party should have yahoo account and yahoo messenger to utilize the feature.

I'm not sure about a free option but before SunRocket closed up, I was able to take my "Gizmo" (VoIP device) on trips to Europe and make calls back to the US without any additional charges (other than the ISP connection fee at the hotel).

u can try skype, but its only free if u talk pc 2 pc.

there is a software called skype which is very cheap for the people living in US. so the person whom you want to talk to can call you for very cheap rates like 25 cents ( it is 25 paisa for them ) to you. you and the person need to download the software.
