Just because your son is deaf and autistic doesn't mean people are going to help pay for your renovation.

Edited To Add:

What I said wasn't hurtful but it wasn't what you wanted to hear, there is a difference!

I was appalled that you'd even ask this question!

Since when do deaf people need their house modified to accommodate their loss of hearing? Yes, there is some equipment that is needed but you don't need a new kitchen and bathrooms because your son is deaf!

I do have children - 4 of them to be exact. They are all healthy. My 7 year old son has a severe speech problems & delays but I'm not asking for people to remodel my house because he can't talk!

Also, my mother's husband was shot in the head 30 years ago by men robbing the store where he worked and was blinded by this but he's not asking for someone to give him money to remodel his house!

Stop using your son's' disability as an excuse for a handout.

Back away from the computer or get off the couch and do something to help yourself instead of looking for people to help you!

I hope you have a nice day too! :-)

Do either of you do crafts or anything that could be sellable at a garage sale or flea market. Also talk to your church or maybe the Lions club, someone like that may be able to help. Maybe you could find some local craftsman (construction, painters etc) that would be willing to barter their services, offer them some service you can do for them in exchange for some work. Just be sure the agreement is spelled out (in writing) what each of you will do.
