It is hurting economy.

50%-60% of all street gangs across the USA are illegal immigrants. Some of the most deadly gangs like MS 13 and 8th street are among the most dangerous, filled with illegal immigrants.

25% to 27% of "Federal Prisoners" are from Citizens of Central and South America ( Mainly Mexico ! ) according to a US Government Site. This doesn't take into account the millions in state jails.

The majority illegal immigrants are seeking "amnesty" in order to reap the 70+ BILLION in US Tax dollar benefits ( and more once they obtain amnesty to back door citizenship) given to them every year. They have broken customs and border laws, millions have illegally avoided income tax which would put most CITIZENS in jail, MANY involved in other major document fraud ( bogus federal Social Security cards, bogus ID / identity theft , bogus birth certificates, bogus green cards etc. etc.). Some have killed and injured US citizens and border control agents. Regular citizens would be thrown in jail for these things.

These illegal aliens want to be rewarded with back door citizenship in FRONT of 280 MILLION people who legally and patiently wait for their turn at citizenship. Is it fair to reward those who break laws to enter the USA illegally ?

Illegal immigrants are 50%+ more likely to be on welfare or other type of major US tax paid $$$ benefit program.

The quality of American Schools along border states with Mexico have been hurt by over crowding and behavioral issues, and language problems.

I’ve read that 80+ hospitals/major treatment facilities have closed in California alone because of the cost of caring for illegal immigrants. These are hospitals that US Citizens depend on but no longer can because of illegal immigrants.

THe economist are split on the issue.
some say they improve our economy by making it bigger. We have a low unemployment rate , and need more labor to let our companies grow.

The others state that it lowers individual income. OUr income has decrease, and illegal immigrants take jobs that can't be exported to China. They allow companies to leverage Americans for a lower pay.

Personal opinion. They hurt. Illegal immigrants does both of what the economist says. The thing is , that a larger economy seems to help the richer by having a larger group of people to buy goods, but it does not seem to translate into improving pay for the average American. As for taxes, even if they pay taxes, which not all of them do, they are at a lower income bracket and uses more tax dollars than the put in. Even if you consider they don't use Social security, there are government expenditures that people don't think of that illegal immigrants use. More people mean more wear and tear on our roads, pressure on our water system, increase need for police( thats even assuming they don't commit more crime than an average citizen). Sending one student to school in itself cost $10,000. If an illegal immigrant has one kid, it more than wipes out what they put in. If they decrease people's income like many stated, they would also decrease what is taxable, and in a disporportionate fashion. (Remember people with higher income have a higher tax rate).

As for those who states they do the jobs Americans won't do, legal immigrants also will do those jobs. Our law allows unlimited farm labor to immigrate here, but it cost agbusiness more money to use them, and illegal immigrants are easily available (The law states that if importing farm labor, the company must prove it does not depress going labor cost). Now that we are raiding illegal immigrants, our government is stream lining the H2A visas so Agbusiness can obtain legal immigrants more easily.

There is no question about it, they are hurting the economy. Lets say an illegal alien is caught with an illegal drug. Well since the ACLU wants to help these criminals, they make cops give them a citation for the crime, and all we can do is hope they go to their appointed court date. If they don't show up (which they usually don't) then its nearly impossible to find them since they aren't in the system.

That shouldn't even been the issue. Because if you use that logic then one would have to ask. Do Murders, rapist, robbers, pedophiles or criminals in general help or hurt the economy? .
Cherry picking who can break a law leads to nobody abiding by laws.
You either believe in right and wrong and a Rule of Law or you don't. Simple as that.

Illegal aliens cost the taxpayers much more than they save employers. So it depends on what you mean by "economy".

Oh please... we didn;t steal anything from Mexico. We won it in a war.Learn your history. The answer is illegals contribute in small ways to the economy ( gas, rent, food ) The problem is that money goes into the hands of the wealthy. The people that own the businesses they frequent. But the cost to the taxpayers is far more.We pay for their school for their 7498739489474 children ( they don't believe in birth control ),
their hospital bills ( everything from gunshot wounds to child birth ) and everything else. Also the loss of property and life due to these criminals is reason enough to deport them alone.

Get rid of them all.

They cripple it - we are spending 11 to 21 billion a years on the invaders.

They do make the rich richer since they pay low wages and push their benefits off on the taxpayer.

actually you are all wrong they help the economy first of all they do the jobs that none of you are ready to do, second they pay taxes that they can never recover because of their status( illegal immigrants). another thing is that they get paid anywhere between .50cents to 3.00$ an hour for a job that should pay a minimum wage and sometimes even for jobs that should pay way over 20.00$ an hour.

and a simple question for those dumb answers how those a person take advantage of government programs if they are not allowed to aplly without a green card or s.s. there is no way unless they get in cash how are they to cash a check without a valid state ID

furthermore why not think that maybe they are not illegal immigrants for we did steal new mexico, texas, california, arizona and many southwestern states from the mexicans and stole the rest of the country from native american tribes. so stop and think for just one minute who really is the illegal occupant of the country. We are !!
