oh and please share which embassy and for what country and in which country you work. Is it hard adjusting to life in another country? do you have difficulty making friendships with locals and/or your colleagues?

I do. I serve my country in Africa right now. This isn't the right forum to type out a long story, but visa interviews always provide the best stories!
Plus, sometime you get to be present when something very significant happens in the life of the host nation...

Funny things that the applicants answer the questions differently just like an inquiry into sex wherein instead of answering male or female, the answer is "once a day".
