If I'm baking anything with flour (pastries or breading for meat) then yes. Otherwise, no...I just tuck a hand towel in my front pocket to wipe my hands on as I go (because I rinse/wash my hands a LOT while cooking).

I'd have to say, that I don't. TV is a great influencer. All the TV Chefs nowadays never wear aprons and this trend has filtered down to the likes of you and I. I remember years ago, wathcing Blue Peter and the first thing that the presenter would do was to put on an apron! Now, I don't think they do it even on Blue Peter.

It's interesting how the media can manipulate us into behaving in a certain way. Whether we like it or not. I have had this discussion with friends in the past and, some of them are absolutely adamant that they are never influenced by what they watch on TV. To admit to it would mean they are coming across as easily-swayed. It's not true. TV producers are very clever people who have many different highly-subtle ways to influence us.

I must have answered this same question 10 times.
Yes.........For cooking, cleaning , laundry etc. I always wear an apron. I know I am in the minority, but, oh well , I guess I am just a old fashioned gal. My gran and mom wore aprons all the time I guess it's a family tradition for us. My sister is an avid apron wearer also ,but she prefers waist / half aprons where as I prefer full aprons (pinafore style). Can't be all the same can we.

Sometimes, mostly for baking. Although pitting cherries and anything having to do with berries needs an apron. I guess also when I make sausage. I feel like I'm back at my restaurant, and I can wipe my hands a lot. And it's not a cute apron, it's a good old butcher's white apron.

I always wear an apron when I'm cooking, mainly because I usually have so many things going on at once I'm likely to make a huge mess of myself if I don't.

Well I don't wear aprons when I cook, but maybe I should or carry a clothe towel because I waste alot of paper towels when I cook on wiping my hands. Plus I don't know anyone who wears them.

I actually wear a chefs coat, especially when I'm dealing with messy stuff - baking, grilling and deep frying.

The coats are relatively inexpensive... protect the arms, have little pockets for thermometer and absorbs the "cooking" smells so when you take it off, your street clothes won't smell like roast beef or sauteed onions and garlic.

Also, it's white so I can throw it in the washer and bleach it with no worries.

This is not really a question, but more like a poll.

But, I am sure there are at least, oh, I would say...five people in the whole world that aprons still. Wouldn't you agree?

So, yes. People do.
