You can try and switch to another teacher, but don't expect it to happen. Principal stand behind their teachers and if they accommodated your request they would have to do it for anyone.
Take it from a person who supposedly had a strict kindergarten teacher(according to my mom she was pretty bad), and apparently I asked if it was the weekend almost daily. I remember very little from the experience and it didn't turn me off to learning the rest of my life, etc.
Kindergarten today is much different than it used to be. It is more like 1st grade used to be. You'd be very luck to find a teacher that didn't send home homework daily.
I'd say let it go. Hardships are apart of life, you can't fix everything. Its just going to waste your time and effort to try and change the teacher.

1. Unless your son is developmentally behind or has a disability there is really no reason he shouldn't be potty trained. I don't know excatly how old he is but if he starts kindergarten next fall I'll assume he is 4 or 5. 2. As far back as I remember kindergarten teachers have never changed diapers. I know at the daycare where I worked they did potty training in the 2yr old class, they weren't accepted into the 3yr old class untill they were potty trained. 3. It's understandable if he has accidents every now and then but the fact he sees nothing wrong with sitting in a soiled diaper all day, it doesn't seem he is even partially potty trained. 4. Should it be a rule that teachers have to change diapers? No it shouldn't, they are not there to baby sit and wipe his butt, they are there to teach. Is our school system getting lazy? Maybe but that has nothing to do with the question. Basically it comes down to, he should be potty trained at 2 to 3 yrs old, that is your job as a parent. If he has a developmental problem or a problem that causes him to have a different mentality, for example a 2yr old instead of a 5yrold, you should consider putting him in special education classes or waiting a yr or so before putting him in school.

If he is not happy I would switch now before he makes friends. KG is supposed to be fun (even though they do have homework these days!?) I really had a problem with my sons 1st grade teacher, but it was towards the middle of the year so I just had him finish the year. It would be terrible though if he switched and the other teacher was even worse. Maybe you should talk to the principal first before making any decisions. Or better yet, ask some of the parents from the year before. Even the kids who had these teachers last year would probably tell you which teacher is nicer or gives less homework or is less strict! As you know, children are usually brutally honest at this age! Good luck!!

Now days, kindergarten teachers do give homework I think. My son is in first grade, and he had homework twice a week in kindergarten( I do agree, every night seems like a bit much, but it depends how long the homework takes). So, expect homework from just about any kindergarten teacher. It's a great way to show the teacher how well your son is doing, if he is grasping the concepts, if she is teaching them correctly, etc. Kindergarten is a pretty important year though. It's important that you feel comfortable and able to easily communicate with his teacher. How long has it been since school started? I would give it at least two weeks. If you see no change, if your son is coming home unhappy, and if you don't feel comfortable with his teacher, I would call the school and set up a meeting with either the principal or the guidance counselor and just explain that you feel uncomfortable and unable to communicate with your childs teacher, and see if it's possible to move him to a different class room.

If she has a good reputation among other parents whose children had her in the past, then I would keep him in the class. Not having a good "social" fit with a person is no reason to not be able to work with that person. You can ask other parents during drop off/pick up or a PTA meeting. And don't worry about the homework -- our K students have homework, too, and it helps develop a good habit that lasts a lifetime. Learning doesn't stop when the school bell ends and parents HAVE to help a K student with homework, so it gets them involved in the educational process.
If other parents tell you that this K teacher is burned out or not a good teacher or whatever, then it's perfectly reasonable for you to ask the school to switch your child to another teacher. If they won't, pull him out of the school and send him elsewhere (it's not too late, honest) or homeschool this year (using educational materials prepared for homeschoolers). You are in control of your kids' education and there's no reason you should put up with somebody who isn't doing their job. If enough parents make complaints, the school district will help a bad teacher shape up or get rid of him/her so that they can hire somebody good. But if the parents don't say anything, the school has no way of knowing something is wrong.

I hate to bring the bad news but most kindergarteners have homework these days. It is absurd to me but it's a reality. As far as not liking the teacher, if it's only been like 2 days, give it time, she may be hard to get to know or be the kind that lays down strict right off the let the kids know whose boss but softens up later, I had lots of teachers like that. However, if it's been a while and you've heard complaints from her previous student's parents ( you may want to question them about her anyway) then you may think of switching. In the end, you are his parent and only you can decide what is best for Nate. Best of luck!

Ask Nate what he thinks, if enjoys it then let him stay, talk to other mums and see how they feel towards the teachers attitude to teaching, kingergarten is meant to be just all about having fun at the same time as learning so maybe homework isnt the best option for the kids, but if you genuinly feel that the way she teachers will affect you son in later life then change kindergartens now while you can, and he still hsa the chance to make friends and not goet to attached to the ones he has already made.

Things are WAY different now than they were when we went to school... i have a daughter in 5th and a son in 6th and i can tell you over the years there has been a teacher or two that i did not care for. what you need to watch for isn't how you feel about the teacher but how the child does. as long as they are learning at the level (s ) expected ( and they are ALWAYS tested on that ) then let it go. they will have to learn at some point that they are not going to like everyone and it is not the teachers job to be friends with them... it is their job to teach them... plus... he is your baby.. and you want it to be perfect for him... no harm in that... just remember, the examples we set now will be expected all through their schooling. support the teacher and keep close tabs on his learning.

The homework nor her being strict will hurt your Son! Kids don't get enough dicipline these days as it is, he might as well get started off on the right foot! Just because you don't like her does not mean he will not like her. That is if you can keep how you feel about her to yourself! Don't put your feelings about her onto your Son! Have more faith in your Son he will figure thing out just fine!

I had the same problem when my son started kindergarten. On the first day of school she was making them do things to see how much they knew.My son looked at another child doing it and she said he was cheating!!Excuse me ?he had never been to school before and had no idea what cheating was...he is 5 !!I went ahead and tried to get along with her throughout the year but the damage had been done!!so,I would go to priinceple and explain situation and tell him you can tell you are going to have some issues with her and you would prefer him to be switched. It will work out much better for everyone!@
I had another teacher who store the lunchboxes in the bathroom???????????who in the heck stores 1st graders food in bathroom they pee everywhere....yes i live in fla can you tell?
