If a person uses anabolic steroids for body building it puts an increased stress on the body systems which they are not ready to absorb. The most commonly affected organ is the heart. Cardiac arrest due to cocaine or other drug use is also not uncommon nor is cardiac arrest or respiratory arrest in seizures.
An autopsy with toxicology screen would be the only sure way to determine what happened. Though without the autopsy probably the best assumption would be cardiac failure due to steroid use. Why add the impact of illegal drugs to an already grieving family.
In other words the steroids were the gun and bullet, the possible used of cocaine just pulled the trigger.

There is aboslutely no way of knowing without an autopsy. White powder could have been anything. Plus, those who do cocaine, and manage to overdose, generally speaking the cocaine is in the bodies, not their face.
If you're asking if cocaine or steroids are lethal, then yes, they are, especially after long term use. Both drugs put a lot of strain on the heart, so a heart attack will be the number one cause.

The steroids would have contributed to his death but he probably died of a heart attack. Maybe the white powder was steroids, I think perhaps people are too quick to assume. To have cocaine "all over him when he was found" would be a very, very expensive habit.

The prolonged use of steroids has lead to many heart related conditions. Mostly guy's in there late 30's early 40's fall foul of this as it tends to catch up. Of course the combination of drugs is not a good idea either.
your unlikely to die from just purely cocaine in less you take inhumanly quantities of it. My guess is Cocaine and steroids are not the only drugs hes likely to have regularly taken.
My condolences.

Im guessing that if he was taking steroids he was into heavy exercise? well, cocaine speeds your heart up, so if your exercising and taking cocaine it will have a drastic pressure on your heart therfore causing heart attacks and seisures. Steroids shouldnt do this alone however mixed with cocaine will again put alot of pressure on your body. hope your ok, and ignore some of the rude comments people have written above

White Powder all over him?? Even serious coke users don't take in that quantity. Chalk dust sounds a more likely explanation - for grip at the gym. Yes steroids can kill - if he was known to be using them then this is by far the most likely cause.

Steroids are seriously bad for a person if used in a way that is not for medical use. Steroids mixed with other illegal drugs are very dangerous. There has been a lot in the sun newspaper at the moment about bodybuilders dying through drug use. See:

These are wrestlers but it is the same thing.

its always a bad idea to mix 2 or more drugs together. even alcohol and cocaine will be much more dangerous than using one at a time.
cocaine and steroids will both increase his blood pressure and heart rate, and is likely the cause of his death.
it is possible that he used other drugs though.

Ok, well...if you question is "Can cocaine cause death?" Yes, absolutely. 2 ways you can die are:
1. heart attack induced by massive amounts of stimulants
2. seizure caused by overdose.
Mixing drugs, or a "cocktail" as they are called, is also way riskier for your body because you don't know how your body will react to 2 (or more) drugs at once. Everyone's body reacts differently to different drugs and/or combinations of drugs.

Steroid use causes depression which could have led to an intentional overdose.
