Thousand as in "kilo." so 20-25K would mean that a job will have an annual pretax salary between $20,000 and $25,000.

1. US20-25K means 20,000 to 25,000 U.S. dollars.

2. K is an abbreviation for "kilo", which means thousand. The most common usage is in km, the symbol for kilometers.

3. In the particular context of salaries, 20-25K is annual gross.
[a. U.S. salaries are never given as net because net cannot be computed in advance due to our tax laws.
b. Pay rates are often given as hourly, but hardly anyone makes US$20,000 or more per hour, except professional athletes, movie stars, and a few top executives (even Bill Gates does not make this much in salary, although some years he might in stock options). These person do not apply for jobs online. Therefore, it must be annual.
c. In some contexts, US20-25K can can refer to various other things, such as the price of a car. However, this would not make sense on a job application.]
