Most of these debt relief/consolidation/counseling companies will charge you fees up front and do very little that you can't do yourself. They will also trash your credit in the process.

Clean up your credit yourself. Get a copy of your credit report and dispute any errors. Very easily done.

Bring all you current debts up to date on payments. Then concentrate on paying off the highest interest rate debt, while making minimum payments on the rest. When the highest rate is paid, move to the next one till everything is paid off.

You can clean up all your debt in 2 or 3 years if you work at it. But you have to live on a stict budget. Get rid of all the extras -- cell phone, eating out, new clothes, etc.
