I am a career counselor at a major mid-western university and I need to say that I'm sure you will get plenty of answers to your question; but, the motive could be a problem. What I mean is 70-80% of all the workers in the world hate what they do for a living! Many reasons for this, one of the core reasons for job dissatisfaction is a mis-match between who the person is and what they do. So if one makes a career choice based upon a certain "degree" that is "hot" or may be in demand...that is usually a prescription for career disaster for most folks.

Match who you are, to the extent that you can, with careers/jobs that reflect (many levels here) the skills, abilities, values that you have naturally...don't try to "force" yourself into a mis-matched job because it is "hot". Now, having said that, some folks don't have a choice...life happens....but to the extent one does have a choice...exercise good career planning and stay away from "hot" degrees, "hot" careers, etc. Well my opinion anyway.
All the very best!

for me on my opinion it is depend for the person if she or he is responsibly to obtain the goal, there are many have good education and from good school and university but they have no job... no government could easily hear you if you only a simple human being...if you back to school for a good cause why not if you have some reserve for a job that some one you know....life is not easy and simple that you can ask your self that i want that job because is good average salaries... if I'm you think on business that can easily market, i have word can share God said that man work your job and then i do the rest....think vision and goal of your business and job.... you see your fruitful harvest.....he he he God bless you campaigner

Law degree, but NOT to get into Personal Injury or Criminal law. John Edwards made his money in personal injury medical lawsuits, and that's probably one of the sleaziest practices since it often results in enormous payouts (40% to the attorney) and higher medical malpractice insurance, and fewer doctors.

However, a law degree would teach you to think logically, to understand the many risks in life, how to deal with them, etc.

The vast majority of politicians are lawyers, and many executives in business have a law degree, and many medical people do as well.

With a law degree, you have credentials that can be used in many businesses. Want to help athletes negotiate contracts? Work with entertainers? Work for a cruise ship company, hospital, etc., all can use people who can practice law, and provide legal advice, etc.

Hope this helps.

If I'd given it enough thought when I was younger, I would have done medicine. I work in medical publishing, which I love, but sometimes I wish I was out there helping people rather than just making generally useless books about it. But at the same time I know many people who are envious of my job because it's publishing...

I would choose a field that would allow me to have a job I would love. It's very, very difficult to go to a job everyday if you don't enjoy your work.
