There is a disturbing trend of scientists, teachers, and students coming under attack for expressing support in the theory of intelligent design, or even just questioning evolution. The freedom of scientists, teachers, and students to question Darwin's theory, or to express alternative scientific hypothesis is coming under increasing attack by people that can only be called Darwinian fundamentalists.”

New Ben Stein Flick, Expelled, Blows the Whistle on Evolution.
Expelled is a disturbing new documentary that will shock anyone who thinks all scientists are free to follow the evidence wherever it may lead.

Intelligent design is creationism in not very new clothes. It denies the evidence for evolution

which is simple stupidity because evolution has more than ample evidence back itup. Which is why smart xians agree it's correct - however they believe that god had a hand in it

why do no intelligent design proponents ever try to prove their theory - they just tell lies about evolution

Intelligent design is NOT science. That is why you can't teach it in a science classroom. Evolution IS science. Whether you agree with the theory or not is irrelevant. The question is not one of validity, it is about whether or not it is SCIENCE! Science is a method used to test things. ID does not use this method. It is therefor not appropriate to teach it in a science class.
There is also a separation of church and state in this country, so religious beliefs cannot be taught in public schools. If you want your child to learn about ID, you should send them to a private school, home school, teach them in church, or just wait until they go to college and can take religion and philosophy classes.
I have lost all of my respect for Ben Stein. He is a smart guy and knows all of the facts above. He is clearly stirring the pot to make himself some cash.

In order for something to be called a theory it needs to be falsifiable and be useful in making predictions. Intelligent Design fails both of these tests and is therefore not a theory.

Christians don't "support" evolution any more than they "support" photosynthesis. Intelligent, educated Christians know about evolution and photosynthesis and other natural processes that are obviously part of the natural world around us, designed and created by God.

i think that scientists should be free to follow the evidence, yes.

however, suggesting that the evidence points to intelligent design simply because we don't have a better answer is not following the evidence. it's giving up halfway through the process.

evolution has its flaws, but right now, it's the best that we can do.

See here's the problem, you don't (or refuse to) understand that the acceptance of evolution is based on material evidence and not hocus pocus superstition.

If I am a fundamentalist for material facts, so be it.

Propose an experiment that could verify or falsify the supposedly scientific theory of intelligent design and I'll let you call ID science. Have the experiment verify ID and you can teach it in schools.

Just one experiment is all I ask.

Religion isn't science and science isn't religion.

Mullah didn't make a new account just to harass you (don't flatter yourself), his old one was deleted.

I just don't understand why there can't be courses on religion in public schools. If you don't want to take the class, then don't take the class, but there's no reason not to offer it. You could have Christian theology, Muslim theology, whatever other -ism theology... and they could all be OPTIONAL! Just like half the other classes that are offered in any school today anyway!
