my son was in the kitchen reaching for a cup when all the sudden he fell to the floor all we heard were plates breaking but when we saw him lying on the floor he had that look on his face like he didn't know what happened he is only 12 years old and has no cold and taking no prescriptions for any thing

he might have had a seisure, go to the doctor asap.

Could have been a sudden blood pressure change or there may be something else going on. I suggest watching it and if it becomes a repeating problem, see the doctor. He might have a mild form of epilepsy or other blacking out disorder. But a singular instance is most likely just a momentary shift of blood and blood pressure causing him to blank out for a moment. Fainting happens when the blood/oxygen supply to the brain is diminished.

He may have twisted in such a manner that the blood vessels were temporarily occluded.

Do take him to the Dr and have him checked - this needs a medical opinion

he should be checked out But you fall to the floor so your head can fill up wwith blood it works as gravity

any time a child loses consciousness for no reason, he needs to be assessed for possible epilepsy associated with hormonal changes of adolescence.
