i know that adam and eve at one point realized they were naked and hid their shame. is this a common feeling in christianity - that you should be ashamed about your body? what about in other religions?

I love to be naked. The naked human body is a beautiful thing and you never feel so free as when your not restricted by clothes.

Merry meet sister,

It is so typical for all of the Jewish-based religions (jews, christians and muslems) that they work with guilt. Which is in essence a sign of alienation. Guilt about your nudity, guilt because you did not go to church, synagogue or mosque, guilt because you had sex before marriage, guilt because you did not do this or that. Wild animals and plants and trees don't know guilt. They have to survive on a daily basis instead of living in luxury. Thus guilt comes from the rich. Our Pagan forefathers had to survive and lived much more in touch with nature. They did not have the luxury problem of guilt. Guilt is a self-destructing tendency that goes in against the good logic of survival of the fittest.
Some other weird alienating tendencies coming down from the rich Christians are a.o. perfectionism and control.
The question is: did Christians ever do something positive for this planet? I can't think of much.
Anyway: how about a skyclad ritual? :)

I've never been taught as a Christian to feel ashamed about my body. I don't know where you get that from. What I have been taught is that a person shouldn't tempt another person into having sinful thoughts by flaunting their body in a way designed to produce that reaction. Certainly a husband and his wife are not told that it is wrong for them to see each other naked or that there should be any shame involved.

i could desire to declare you have a element.there are various that do watch video clips with killing that doesn't watch one with nudity. and that i've got faith that it is going back to the 1st sin. whilst Adam and Eve disobeyed God and chosen to eat of the fruit He had instructed them to no longer. What grew to become into the 1st element they observed? That they have been bare and that they have been ashamed. So with nudity there's a feeling of shame. additionally seeing the nakedness of others brings approximately thoughts they comprehend they don't have for others (exterior of marriage) and this brings on thoughts of shame and duvet. Now homicide is incorrect additionally and that i've got faith we've thank you to many video clips with violence and our society reflects this. most of the videos with killing are what some have faith is justified killing. They get the undesirable adult males. and so as that they have faith it is superb. i'm no longer announcing it is solid and it is incorrect. (inspite of the fact that I do have faith nudity in video clips is often incorrect, and that i do no longer no longer slasher video clips the two) yet it is between the justifications human beings sense the way they do approximately nudity and violence in video clips.

They believe that all things God created are beautiful. We were all created in God's image.

So yeah, they pretty much see the human body as indecent and something to be ashamed of. That's why there are no nude churches. That's why we have laws against "indecent exposure."

Beauty's in the eye of the beholder. If I saw Alicia Silverstone walking down the street naked, the only thing I'd see as indecent would be the cost of the car wreck I'd be in for having driven by it. For her nudity, I'd feel blessed.

No wonder the world confuses me!

Ok this is from a Christian stand point: It does say in the bible that we need to refrain from lust. However I think its in the mind that causes the lust. There is nothing wrong with nudity if its between husband and wife. Public nudity is something entirely different. I think that it is completely inapporiate for several reasons. Most of all exposing children to something that they should not be subjected to.

I believe the human body is beautiful, no matter what shape, but I'm glad people don't run around naked. We have enough trouble with infidelity without putting temptation right out in the 'open'. :) Myself being raised Christian, we were just taught to be modest and dress 'appropriately' for the occasion. Last night's 'God's Warrior's' showed the Muslim women all covered because they are inferior to men and must not draw attention to themselves. Our local Catholic bulletin I notice, will tell girls to cover themselves with a shawl for mass if their dress is 'revealing'.

Taking in the fact that if you are in the Vatican as a woman you need to cover your arms and legs, think again. And lest not forget that the christians demanded the nude angels be painted over in I think the Sistine Chapel.

I am not ashamed of my body because of my faith... I am not really ashamed of my body... I just wish that my body looked better. But that has more to do with self esteem issues than other things.

I don't have anything bad to say about nudity.....

We were born with it and use it when we need to. I am not ashamed of my body, it was wonderfully designed. If you are asking if I would go nude all the time, the answer is no.
