fishing tips??

im going fishing tomorrow in niantic, what are some good ways to catch stripers? l what is good bait to use? or whatever. i just wanna catch some stripers

If you are going stripper fishing by far the best method is trolling. All you need is a fairly stout rod and a medium diving shad style crankbait you want to troll a speed that keeps the lure about 3 feet below the surface. If you plan on using live bait I recommend actual shad and you would need to troll a little slower so as not to rip the bait off.

Bunker (Menhaden), mackerel, shad, cut into big pieces are good bait. Also use a 8/0 hook. The leader should be about 12 to 18 inches. Most important, you need to find out where exact is the best striper bite. Striped bass usually stay in one area for days until they move. Try to find out the area where the last good bite was and most likely you'll catch a striper. This information, nevertheless, is for saltwater fishing. If you are referring to lake striped bass, I am clueless.

screw lures....in all honesty, i use them and they work, but if you're looking for some quality stripers without the hastle and longer wait times go for some real bait. try hooking up some mackerel, sea clams, or squid, in big chunks but make sure the tip of the hook is visible....if you're in a boat drop it or meerly castit out 10 feet.....if you're on the surf...well good for you because thats real fishing.....cast it a good 50-70 feet and you're ready to go....good luck
