I mean, let's face it, he doesn't exactly have the best track record for being very kind.

ie. -blames his newborn children for things that their ggggggggrandparents have done.

-slaughtered babies

-encouraged the death of his favorite son

-executed non-virgins

-wiped out the entire population of the world

-encourages stoning for misbehavior

-encourages men to beat their wives

-encourages slavery

-encourages the execution of "witches"

-hates his gay children, yet he made them that way

-sends people who don't believe in him to hell, yet he refuses to show his face

- gets some teenager knocked up and doesn't pay child support

-creates his own enemy (Satan)

(it goes on an on like this)

On top of that, the talk of death an killing far outweighs the talk of love in the bible.

In the beginning, man was lonely - and hated the things he could sink down to, so he created a God in his image. As the god grew in complexity, he attempted to describe all the questions his peers would ask him about this god, and the world with a set of stories.

He could not explain the bones of these great creatures, which had existed, long before he had, so he invented dragons and monsters to justify them. In deed, as his knowledge of the natural world grew, so he amended the story to fit the world he saw, and soon his stories became classic tales, that everybody accepted. And they told his story far and wide.

Problem was that the story was not unique, but one of hundreds of competing stories, all similar. So the followers of each 'theory' would defend it against the followers of other theories. Three of the stories grew very big, and were a kind of Trilogy, but the followers of the first book denied the sequels, and the followers of the second book, tried to wipe out the followers of the other books with holy wars. The followers of the third book tried to convert all to the third book.

So what you have is not a book about a god, but a book with examples of how a church would like the story of our creation to be, and edited using examples that suit their own political agenda. Te church want's lots of followers, because they each pay money to that church, so it gets them young, keeps them with stories to scare them into membership, and rewards them with free gifts they can never question or test.

The Papal bull of Pope Innocent VIII: BULL Summis desiderantes, Dec. 5th, 1484 was the document that started the burning of witches. It was created to stop heretical belief, aimed at certain towns in Germany, where women were running businesses. They were branded as witches, and their wealth confiscated by the church!

Gay folks scare the church, sex for fun not to produce children to pay bills. In fact anything that is fun is made a sin, so the sinner has to confess to the priest, who will arrange a moral compensation which for the wealthy included land and nice new buildings for the poor church to live in, for the glory of this wonderful invention god. Oldest profession on earth, conning poor farmers out of food for peace of mind, even older than prostitution!

I hope to raise my daughter in a way that not only will she be a confident woman who can stand up for what she believes in, but also a person who is respectful and never puts down another person. It's a hard task, but I feel up to the job. When I see hateful comments, or the legendary "lousy parenting for lousy parents," it does make me upset. And it's so hard to defend oneself in a forum such as this without sounding defensive. Which, as we all know, is just more ammo for some. Sigh.....I don't know. I just answer questions to the best of my knowledge. Sometimes it's good, other times I look back and think "what was I thinking." But, I try to always give advice in a way that's not demeaning and in a way that I would want it.

Let me start by stating the obvious, I think you should do so more Biblical theology before making unfounded statements. God doesn't need to meet your or anyone elses expectations, who are we to question Him if we dont even come close as humans to be what He would wish us to be.
The Bible is a story of love, one of such great power that when you read it with blinders on as you have obviously done, then you will only get negative thoughts from it. think of the love He has for you when He was willing to give His only Son, for you.
Secondly His son, who didn't need to, accepted what His calling was for, to die for you, knowing fully well that you would do what you are doing now, but did that matter to Him, did He question it, no... He accepted it because of His love for you.
Third, He loved you so much He sent His Spirit to dwell among us, and lead those who wish to accept being lead, out of free will, chosing to be lead, to serve Him wihtout question.
But you continue with your hatred, you obviously have another agenda, one that pleases not only yourself but the one you mentioned towards the end of your ranting, Satan.

Are you sure about the bad outweighs the good?

I understand What your saying. God gives everyone a choice a blessing or cursing choice -the verse is in the Bible.

So we are to obey His command or not.It is that simple.

God wants us to choose Him but our sin seperates us from Him because Light and Dark can not abide together.

Would you want your kids to obey you? I know you wouldn't kill them but if the choices they make are leading them to die anyways wouldn't you want them to know they need to choose a different way?And if they would have listened from the beginning maybe they wouldn't be in the bad place they are now.

Just my opinion.

It's just a fairy tale! Don't read too much into it. The christian cult guide book was written long ago by men in an attempt to control the uneducated masses and maintain their desired socio-economic power structure.

Remember, "god" is nothing more than a nonsense word made up by man to explain away all of the things we can't yet understand.

You are blaspheming God, I hope I am there to see you before the judgement seat of Christ.

He most certainly does not! There are many more things you could add to your list.
