Truman did not see what Chaim Weitzmanns true intentions were in 1947! Otherwise, he would have not submitted to his requests.

Have any of you morons that answered "no" to this question really done any thinking about it?

I am NOT Jewish, but I have been there and spent a number of months in Tel Aviv. Let me tell you this, they would, at the drop of a hat, defend us. They sell T-shirts there that say, "Don't worry America, we've got your back".

I challenge ANYONE to find another civilization that actually feels that way towards us. Even our staunchest allies England and Australia (to a lesser extent) are looking at us unfavorably.

So, should we, absolutely. They are an island in the middle of hate. The Iranian President recently stated that he would like to wipe them off the face of the planet. Why? Ideology?

So, you idiots think that if we stand back and allow that to happen somehow they would then leave US alone? You are sadly mistaken.

Grow a backbone. Better yet, why don't you all move to France?

Let's see, Israel is a democracy in a sea of radical Islamic countries that all publicly call for their complete extermination.

We are a democracy that shares similar ideals with Israel and provide military aid to ensure that the radical Islamic cries for these peoples extermination does not come to fruition.

I am not aware of the American Military having actively fought on behalf of the Israelis until the first Gulf War when Army Patriot batteries were used to defend Israel from Iraqi Scud attacks. This was done with the whole hearted approval of most of the radical Islamic Nations so should not be a big point of contention.

Other than that I think you are just an anti-semetic Bigot from the American Socialist Party (Neo-Nazi?).

Crawl back in your hole and don't have any children.

I find it Ironic seeing as the Israeli army is far superior. Not in technology of course, but in the abilities of their soldiers. Then again almost every country is better that the US in that section but the Israeli's are extremely good soldiers anyway, remember when they defeated most of the arab nations in 6 days?

I have nothing against Israeli's but their country was created under false pretenses. I'll hit you up with the facts: Palestine was apart of the Ottoman Empire (Modern Turkey) untill its break up following it's defeat in WWI. It was then turned into a League of Nations (Like the UN back then) mandate and controlled by the British and semi-controlled by Americans. Following the Allied victory of WWII the British and Americans promised the Palestinian people that they would not take any of their land to crate a new Jewish state so that nothing like the holocaust could happen again. So following this Promise the Western Powers seized all of Palestine and created the Modern state of Israel shortly after the war, and their logic couldn't have been any clearer "Taking these peoples land and creating a non-secular country on it won't cause any problems".

Let's see...Israel is a teeny tiny strip of land in the middle of Muslim Territory. She is surrounded by her enemies who on any given day vocalize their hatred of the Jews. Don't you think it is a good idea to protect a Democracy in the middle of the Middle East?

For that matter, you have to ask yourself why the Middle East even cares about a little, teeny tiny strip of land inhabited by the Jews. Doesn't it seem silly that there is so much hatred and vitriol for such a tiny population of people by comparison? When you can answer that question, you'll understand why we defend them.

Another poor attempt at a TROLL question.

The US fights for what is in the US interest first and foremost.

Then that of its Allies and friends.

They should instead try to make peace don't you think? We don't need any more wars, there has been enough killings already. We live in the 21st century, we should be civilize people and fix problems in a more civilize way.
