the real question is;

is your heart full of good and do you love God?

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior then yes you will be going to heaven.

A legalistic person tries to show others that they are worthy of going to heaven through their actions. They have strong boundaries and often are intolerant to others. They live by the rules ( usually as told to them from their pastor ) and have a hard time believing that others who hold different positions are going to go to heaven.

A spiritual person will keep the rules out of an internal since of right and wrong. They use their own conscience and Bible study to help them make judgments about what they should or should not do.

I have been on both sides of this issue and I can say that the rules can protect, but they can also stunt growth in the faith. Learn to be a strong person able to defend one's beliefs and actions and then what other's opinions are matter so much less.

Legalistic is a code word people use for being like Pharisees. Legalistic people only uphold the code of the religious law so that the world can see how holy they are. Today it is used for people who are so much into the political side of religion - damning, judging, condemning, trying so hard to prove they are right - that they forget that a big part of Christianity is to love our enemy, turn the other cheek, judge not, and help the less fortunate.

In the end only you and God know your heart.

If you have repented of your sins and believe that Christ is the Son of God and that He came to this earth to die for your sins. And you have put your trust in Him to save you from the punishment and judgement that is to come then you are saved. Whether you are legalistic has no bearing on whether you go to heaven or not. Although, your rewards may be forfeit by living a legalistic life. God speaks about the religious type who close the doors of heaven to others because they force their traditions and religiousity u
pon others.

I hear strange terms from christians all the time like "legalistic", "hardhearted", "salvation issue", etc.

If you believe in the G-D of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (the G-D that Jesus worshipped and prayed to), to be "legalistic" is a "salvation issue" and the "hard-hearted" are those who don't embrace the Laws of G-D but continue to willfully ignore them, thereby sinning and distancing themselves from His Will.

"Legalistic" actually means to be concerned with the Law of G-D and allow it to govern our behavior. So, if someone calls me spiritually legalistic, I say "thank you".

Legalism

1. strict adherence, or the principle of strict adherence, to law or prescription, esp. to the letter rather than the spirit.
2. Theology. a. the doctrine that salvation is gained through good works.
b. the judging of conduct in terms of adherence to precise laws.

3. (initial capital letter) (in Chinese philosophy) the principles and practices of a school of political theorists advocating strict legal control over all activities, a system of rewards and punishments uniform for all classes, and an absolute monarchy.

Will you still go to heaven??..If you are asking this from a christian perspective then Christ says that whomever shall believe upon him and confess it with their tongue and repent of their sins shall be worthy to enter into the kingdom.I couldn't possibly add anything to that.

What is legalistic? Are you an attorney?
Another term might be logical, but that might insinuate the truth they are incapable of.
I wouldn't worry, they're not going to heaven either.

If there is a heaven, you should be as eligible as the next person. And perhaps you can more successfully argue your case before St. Peter!

Going to Heaven is not about one's job or political affiliation. It's about the internal climate of that soul.
