Specifically the symbol or symbols used in schematics for the heating elements in an electric stove.

-/\/\/\/\- Looks like a resistor except you put the words heating element next to it along with its cold and hot resistance values.

As above and on some drawings it even has a small arrow drawn diagonally across the center of the sawtooth indicating a variable resistance that is current controlled, not unlike the use of an arrow pointing to the sawtooth that indicates a mechanical variable resistance.
