Contact your local Lions club. They collect old eye glasses and refurb them for the homeless and the poor in need.
Lions are worldwide so you shouldnt have any issue locating a chapter in New York.
Thank you for not just tossing them in the trash like many others would and for looking how to donate, I wish more people had the same mindset as you!

Krisy this is an easy one..and I am suprized alot of people do not realize that any Lions Club thru out the world are able and willing to take old glasses...they repair them then are able to give them to people that cannot afford glasses.. Lions Clubs main purpose is to help those people that have sight problems. even eye transplants helping the blind is one of their goals.. this is one of the greatest organizations in the world and are world renowned.....contact any Lion club member or look in phone book for Lions Internationl. also while travelling as u enter a town look at the signs along the road and you will sign signs that say Lions meet here. along with Masons. churches. and other community groups....

Of course, the Lions Club!
Also, if you are unsure where a Lion's club is, or if your community even has one, you can contact the office of an eye-doctor in your town. Generally, if they are not members of a Lion's club themselves, they know where to drop the glasses off at.
Hope this helps

Call your local Lion's Club. They have pick-up places. Your old glasses will give new sight to people in Central America.

The Lions Club is the place to call. Most opticians give them to the Lions club. They work with the Gift of Sight Foundation, you can look both of them up online.
