Do you think they are all orphans or just sadly "neglected"???
It's that ancient question : Who came first, the neglected kids or neglected dogs.

My only point was that when you bring any animal into your life, you should do at least half azz research.
If kids ask such silly questions, it means that whole household doesn't have a clue.

It actually makes me wonder where the parents are. My oldest is 14 and has to let us know when she wants to use the computer. We only have one which we leave in our living room so all the kids can be supervised while on it. We got it for mainly school work for them to use. My other two 10 and 9 also are allowed but only for school work and with again supervision!
So my answer would maybe be "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree", if you know what I mean!

I see no problem of children taking responsibility and developping a relationship with dogs, especially the dogs that are consideed dangerous to them, so that the dog recognises the child as his boss. Of course, this must be done under adult supervision and professional guidance. As for pit bulls and other races, it all depends on how they are brought up. A friend of mine has a huge pit bull who is a cuddly and playful thing that cuddles up against you on a couch. It is not very pleasant, I admit, because he takes up all the space, but he is not dangerous in any way. Plus I love this dog - I am kidding about the cuddling up being unpleasant, it is actually cute.

What is wrong with people asking questions on a website where people feel they can get honest answers? Putting people down based on age is pretty discriminatory if you ask me. And don't automatically assume that the kids and/or dogs are neglected. Even if they are, they are here trying to get help.
Stop being so judgmental.

I am having a problem getting the gist (The central idea; the essence of the question)
If I saw the question as it reads, I would wonder just what has the child been taught. I would not expect me or anyone else to "potty in bed" except an infant . Even then I expect to change the diaper. I guess I don't understand the logic of making ANYTHING human or animal lay in their own waste matter.
So I think both the child and the dog are neglected.

NO! I am 12 years old and I am very mature for my age and I think I answer my questions really well. I don't ask questions. The kids that ask these qusetions probaley had their parents give them a dog and told them they have to take care of it, so the kids don't want to ask their parents because they fear that thier parent will think them of irresponsible. Some of the kids might be neglected or orphans, but I highly doubt it.

As much as it goes against the grain, I would NOT have a computer available to children. They should be playing outside, reading books, doing homework or chores. NO computer time or video games. It is better for them in the long run.
My sister is following that with her kids. They read a LOT, they are taking horseback riding lessons, day camp at the zoo, play time outside, etc. They are doing REAL well. Oh, yeah, no cable television, just educational DVDs once in awhile.
