I have a load of fruit but I'm going away over the weekend and it'll be spoiled by the time I get back. So I was wondering whether I could make it into smoothies and freeze them?

Just in case it matters, all I put in my smoothies is fruit and some natural yoghurt.

Thanks!

If you freeze a smoothie you will end up with a solid smoothie. When you are ready to drink it I would think you could break it up enough to out it in your blender and then blend it up again.

Why don't you just freeze the fruit? It will make the smoothies icy, but they are still good!

I agree with the freeze the fruit idea... but the suggestion from Philannauz dismays me, I once had a girl with an icy chest, It was like making love with a zombie, give me hot chested girls every time, and double breasted ones at that..........

You would be better off vitamin wise to eat the fruit as it is, you can freeze, but most of the goodness will be lost. So, I would eat what I could fresh - chuck the rest and have a bloomin' good weekend. Have fun. xxx

I would think so, or you could prepare the fruit and freeze that in portions.

Sure they will make nice frozen treats or if you have and "ice cream" maker use it to blend up a nice frozen yogurt that will be so much better than the commercial version.
