I do that on a regular basis, but I don't think it's having much of an effect.

My humble opinion towards computers (and computers alone) is that they are evil, corrupt, vile pieces of machinery that deserve no mercy! Still, I depend on them for working, so I'd say reformat....

I would send the program to the eternal recycle bin, or if spyware, I would run the great guardian of windows heavens the the holy anti-virus

I'd probably start by re-booting.

And if that didn't work, I'd see if I could turn it off in the Control Panels window, or simply un-install it.
