No, it just means that it will operate if you use a version of MS Windows.
Rather depends on what "it" is, of course. As it does not specify a version of Windows I would guess monitor?

Yes. Windows compatible simply means that any software will work with Windows XP. Be careful with Vista, since it is a new operating system and many programs are not compatible. In my opinion Vista is an operating system before it's time. There is an extensive upgrade, or compatibility list if anyone wanted to upgrade from Windows XP to Vista. I think it would be cheaper for someone to just buy a new computer with vista installed instead of upgrading an existing computer. I will include a link for information about Vista.

Typically yes, it should say what versions of windows it supports too but in all likelihood it will run Windows Vista, unless it was created before Vista theres a slight chance it may not be compatible or you may need to download a patch.
and to the person above Dennis, Actually Windows software will run natively on a Mac, Macs can run windows natively.

nope, doesn't mean it includes Vista, only means that the software or hardware will run on a windows compatible system.
So, if you're on a Mac, a windows compatible piece of software will not natively run on it. If you have a computer running Windows XP, then the windows compatible software *will* run on it.
Good luck!

It means it will work in Windows as long as the software was written for the version of windows you are using. Software is usually backwards compatible (ie progs for Win 95, Win98 will usually run on Win2000 or XP but Win2000,XP progs will probably not run on Win95,98). However many people are complaining that stuff they used on XP will not run on Vista because the drivers for progs and hardware have not been updated/authorised by Microsoft yet.

It means that the software/file/e.t.c is compatible with windows. If the windows compatible sign you are enquiring about has a vista logo, it means its vista compatible, if it has a windows ME logo, it means that it is windows ME compatible e.t.c.
