Ideas for a weekly newspaper colomn which targets youth and deters them from drugs and crime?

Question

Just throwing some ideas around and thought you guys on YA may give some good suggestions...

Ideas for a weekly column in the local paper which would target young people and inspire them to do activities other than drugs. Which shows them what can happen if they go about certain situations wrongly...

Something they can relate to, someone they can write in too with their own ideas or stories.

Perhaps each week have a different emphasis on ways drugs and crime can affect them, different examples of what really happens...

It has to be relatable to teens, something they will want to read and want to get interested in and be part of...

Something UNIQUE, possibly slightly contravertial, and something which will make them really think.

ALL ideas and suggestions welcome at this stage.

I think you're on the right track! A place where teens can ask questions, share stories of experience, and make suggestions. Might even be a place for teens to meet each other. Good luck!

The only good behavior that re-routes people of any age from Bad behavior to Good behavior IS AN ALTERNATE ACTIVITY. u have to research things in your town (assuming the newspaper column is aimed at the same area in which u live) and have a Hot List of activities that are going on in the area.
1. Like here's a free movie that is playing at so-and-so
2. Here's a free computer (or painting or sculpture or hair stylist, etc) that is being given by so-and-so + it's where +when.
3. Here's the schedule of local (high school?) teams and their games, times and locations
Is there any way to post them on Myspace.com or ? page or other online posting locations?

super question and that i merely stumbled on a concept for this final wk, once I took my 21 3 hundred and sixty 5 days outdated daughter to visit her boyfriend in a county detention center because of the fact he did no longer get a clue in time. Now I could take her because of the fact her newborn would be born any day ,,,, long tale short i think of a article approximately yet another youthful human beings each and each paper that is going to be locked up for a while and what they did could help,, i think of school papers could try this with scholars that visit juvy or county jails, yet this is a invasion of a minors rights. while i became at this County detention center in MI there became an entire team of youthful adolescents everywhere in the halls ??? i became think of get them out of right here after which i found out they have been there on a probation order for committing legal's at there little tiny a while. i could famous individual your ??? 5 situations if i ought to yet i visit do my one

Don't push it, don't be too didactic about it. Tell them about cool things they can do and achieve, show them there are things worth living for even if you have no money/education/loving home.

But really, your column should also be online and have at least some community features like a chatroom, a listserve etc so people can relate and give you feedback.

well since im a teen, i find that if you hang out with your friends mroe often and be a sporty and fit,, i really helps! im guessing just tell them to be active and do activities with inspiring people!
