I fear that...but I could still remember that Mondale lost in the 1984 presidential elections even though his vice was Geraldine Ferraro.

Maybe Hillary would win the Democratic Party's nomination because she's a woman...but will she ever get the ticket to the White House because of that?

There are basically four types of women voters. Those who love Hillary, those who would vote for any woman, those who would never vote for any woman and those who would not vote for Hillary no matter what. The women who would never vote for a woman are the most troublesome for Hillary. The vast majority of these are senior citizen democrats, who are usually the most reliable democrat voters. Many of these would not vote for a black person either.

Regardless, if Hillary gets the nomination the general election will be very interesting.

She will win the majority of Democratic female votes in the primary; however, with that said, if Obama can pull off enough males (or black females) from Clinton's base, he can still win if he offset's the white female advantage that she has. I do agree with people above me's comments about how women have brains and vote intelligently, but there will always be that 10-20% of women who only want to vote for a woman and thereby influence the primary by about 5-10% (factoring in males). As far as the general election goes, she will lose because the Republican base and Democratic (albeit not as much) bases will be fired up to vote for their candidates (regardless of gender) and the independents will vote Republican. You will end up with another 51% Republican election and a huge loss of seats in the House, although the Senate likely will become more Democratic purely due to the sheer number of Republicans running for re-election, just not as much as if Obama/Edwards were to win the nomination.

LOL. I cannot see women flocking to Hillary because she is a woman. If that happens, lets all go blonde. The nations of the world would start thinking we have only two families in America who are 'smart' enough to be president.... Bush-Clinton=Clinton-Bush-Bush....do you see a pattern here. We need some fresh blood at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Not the same ole//same ole. Let's let the sunshine in. I am tired of politics as usual. IT'S TIME FOR A CHANGING OF THE GUARD!!!

Do think Giuliani will monopolize the votes of the males of America? | fear that......but I could still remember that |Dole lost in the 1996 presidential elections even though his vice was Jack |Kemp.
Maybe Dole won the Republican Party's nomination because he's was a man...but he did not get the ticket to the White House because of that?

No. Don't make the mistake of generalizing that all women want Hillary to be President. While they probably certainly support the idea of a woman as President, as I do, just NOT THAT WOMAN! She will do better in NOW and GLAD and will almost certainly get in the high 90's percentile in those groups.

I think the woman thing may help a LITTLE, but not enough....I think their are enough people out their who could accept a female president by now, just not enough to accept Hillary Clinton as that woman...or at least I hope not!

Regardless of what 47% of Americans think, she will win the presidency, it is preordained. Cons love to say how high her negative ratings are, like rounding it up to 50%, lol, the negative views about her a dropping, and once she gets the nomination they will drop even further. She is not only the front runner of the Democrats but all the Republicans as well, including Giuliani.

AMAZING.In spite of being an advanced country, largest working democracy in the world,a super power, highest literacy,an open and enlightened society,a champion of equality and human rights,AMERICA at it's very heart [even secretly]continues to be strongly GENDER-BIASED country, as far as entrusting of their PRESIDENCY is concerned to a WOMAN[who so ever she may be].Even if Hillary had the capabilities of being a better President than BUSH, BILL CLINTON and NIXON put together,I am sure that AMERICANS would prefer and be more comfortable with a MALE President though of a lesser capabilities. This is quite contrary to their views about any other POSTS,where they are likely to accept women candidates. As if a spill over effect,I think most women are likely to follow their men folk in this behavioral pattern.Once again,it's amazing.
