How to Clean:

If you have just a few pieces, use an old toothbrush to get the clay off. Otherwise, start by building a 2 by 2 foot framed 0.25 inch mesh screen. You can get this type of screen, called hardware cloth, at your local hardware or farm and garden store. Remove the newspaper wrapping and let the specimens dry on the screen for a couple of days. Keep everything in the shade to prevent the crystal from heating up too rapidly in direct sunlight. When the clay is well cracked and dried, rinse with a garden hose. Let dry a couple of days and repeat the cycle

you need to cleanse it in natural sea salt. or uniodized salt. Natural salt. for atleast 24 to 48 hours, either by putting it in the salt or salt water. Then after that, you need to wash it or cleanse it naturally with water, like from a stream, river or rain. then you leave it out in the Moon light to activate the crystal. when you activate it you put into it your thoughts, your desires and protection. good thoughts are tramsmiited into the crystal for you if you do this by holding it as you activate it.
The Quartz crystal is a good conductor of energy and a great stone for clarvoyance and opens up your mental awareness to the natural laws of nature.
quartz can become cloudy when it is holding alot of negative energy. when it clears itis becomeing positive energy. when you see an aura in it, or colors of blue and green and yellow. then usually if it appears after you have had it for awhile, then it is your own aura appearing in the cyrstal,,

Clean it physically or clean its being?
I've heard that you put it into a glass of clean natural water (rain or melten snow works great) and leave it in the sun for a full day.
You'll also want to keep it with you after that, in your pocket or around your neck, so it attunes to you and your signature, and learns to trust you.
