Sunlight reflecting off their surfaces. It is cool to watch the ISS disappear into the Earth's shadow. Now it is the brightest thing in the sky, then it disappears in less than one second.

The sun reflecting off them makes them appear to glow, when really they are just visible. The moon is the largest satellite of earth and you know how that goes.

Unless a satellite emits light of it's own it is invisible except when illuminated by sun light.

U can see it when u are in the dark and the sun is shining on the satellite.
