people talk over their iniquities and disappointments and mourn over them until they are overwhelmed with discouragement, shutting out the light from their soul and casting a shadow upon the pathway of others.

Yes, it is a shame if we just keep complaining but never take even a small step towards alleviation. The shame is the hypocrisy, the insincerity.

Yes. I believe it is because misery loves company. Most people have some sad things to share, and by doing that and hearing similar cases from others, it gives them a sort of relief, that they are not the only one having difficult times.

We forget the good things faster than the bad things. The memory of bad things stay with us much longer.
