I don't think it is a that bad decision to field first in a batting pitch in 1st odi vs England .If they bat good in 2 ininnings they have some chance to win .But the players in the team is wrong . If they these players they can win.

1.Dinesh Karthick
2.Robin Uthappa
3.Wasim Jaffer
4.Sachin Tendlkar
5.Rahul Dravid
6.Mahendra Singh Dhoni
7.Zaheer Khan
8.Ajit Agarkar
9.Munaf Patel
10.Anil Kumble
11.Sarath Powar

The top six batsman are very good. So they have chance to win if they have these players in the team

It was
yes ofcourse it is absurd. Only Rahul dravid can make such decisions. Even team(11 members) selection is wrong. They should have played munaf and powar.

Though it proved to be wrong at hind sight,Rahul said that he took the decision due to overcast conditions.
Yet, the bowlers were able to restrict them within 290.Perhaps you would have been satisfied if they were all out for that score. But it matters little. It was really an achievement to contain them within 290.
That score was attainable if only our batsmen had applied themselves. The moment we were 46 fo 4 everything evaporated.
So it was our batting more than a decision which proved worse.

Dravid is becoming a huge embarrassment to himself. He should get out of the game immediately if not sooner and take with him Sachin and Saurav and call it quits before people start booing them off the park.....

No it was a right decision,if Indian opener provide minimum 50 runs stand, then rest of players become cool and provide match winning perfomance
In my opinion skiped Munaf from team is a wrong decision because if he played then he definely used pace like anderson,by using his height.

No I do not think so. His decision was based on fact that
the pitch would provide some early wkts and India has a decent
record chasing.

Dravid is useless and so are the rest. All are pathetic. And the matches are all fixed. So why waste time watching this crap.
